BLACK-LISTED BOATS & PLANS The purpose of this page is to warn prospective purchasers of boats designed by Bruce Roberts-Goodson or his staff under the Bruce Roberts Yacht Designs banner, that were either built from PIRATED OR STOLEN plans or worse still from incomplete, altered or out of date plans as sold by Phill Hogg and Paul Taylor in Australia. Also there are others who have built boats purported to be from Bruce Roberts plans which were altered to such a degree as to make them either unsafe and or not supported by this office. BLACK-LISTED ... Boats built from pirated or stolen plans: Any boats computer designed by Bruce Roberts since 1985 to present time ... that are sold or supplied by PHIL HOGG or PAUL TAYLOR .. This list includes all includes illegally acquired plans for the Spray range of plans, New York series, All Roberts designs, Waverunner designs & others as listed on the web page PIRATED AND STOLEN PLANS Email BRUCE for additional information. BLACK-LISTED ... Private builders: It is possible to stay off this list ... firstly check before you buy any Bruce Roberts designed boat and secondly you can correct the situation at minimum expense by contacting BRUCE who is very reasonable to deal with in this respect. The honor of the first person to be posted on this section is one Ambrogio Di Bernardo Milano-Italy who claimed he never received his plans ... he has now admitted that he DID receive his plans and this posting will remain on our and other web sites until he publicly apologizes on the same web site that he posted the lies in the first place! MAKING CHANGES TO OUR DESIGNS WITHOUT THE DESIGNERS OR PERMISSION: If you are building a Bruce Roberts designed sail or powerboat ... PLEASE do NOT make any substantive changes without contacting us for advice. Below we have an example of what will not only ruin the basic design but jeopardise your chances of ever selling your boat at a decent price ... NO one wants to buy an 'orphan' a boat that has been so screwed up by the builder that it is either un-safe and or handles unfavourably in certain conditions ... I know all designers agree with me on this point ... either follow your plans OR consult the designer BEFORE you make any changes. NOTE: Most classification societies and local licensing authorities take a dim view of boats that have been altered between the designers drawing board and the builders finished product .. avoid these problems at ALL costs. If you have already made changes to YOUR Bruce Roberts designed boat ... PLEASE seek the designers advice and help to put your boatbuilding project back on the right track ! BLACK-LISTED ...
